The creation of a regulated cryptocurrency market is a step in the right direction, said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank Anatoly Popov, Kommersant reports on July 28.
According to Povov, Sber has sent its proposals to the Central Bank on the parameters of an experimental legal regime (EPR) for cryptocurrency trading.
“Sber supports the initiative to create a regulated cryptocurrency market. This is a step in the right direction, which will speed up the circulation of digital currencies, including those related to the legalization of mining.”said the deputy chairman of the board of directors of Sber. He clarified that regulation of the cryptocurrency market could potentially allow the use of digital currencies in foreign economic activity.
It should be noted that on July 26, the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market approved a bill allowing the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to establish rules for trading digital currency within the framework of the EPR. Previously, the bill had already been approved by the State Duma in the first reading.
