The Ruskeala symphonic music festival has ended in the Ruskeala Mountain Park, the press service of the Head of the Republic of Karelia reported on July 28.
At the closing ceremony, the Head of the Republic, Artur Parfenchikov, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants of the festival.
“I would like to thank the festival organisers, volunteers, artists and soloists, and of course the spectators and fans. Without you there would be no art, no concerts, no Ruskeala Symphony. Thanks also to our Karelian nature, which became the main creator and inspiration of the festival. See you at the 9th Ruskeala Symphony.”– he said.
This year, 6.5 thousand people attended the festival. Many of them came here in large groups and whole families.
For two days, festival visitors enjoyed performances by famous artists and talented newcomers. At the final concert, soloists of the Russian Bolshoi Theatre performed arias from the golden fund of world opera music.
Recall that the Ruskeala Symphony Festival was founded on the initiative of the head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov in 2017. This event became a phenomenon in the cultural and tourist life of Russia and entered the top 15 regional events in the country. Guests of the festival are attracted not only by the program of the event, but also by the opportunity to visit a unique monument of nature and industry – artificial marble quarries that arose on the site of marble mining of the 18th-20th centuries – the Ruskeala Mountain Park. The festival stages are located in the open air: in the pearl of the Mountain Park – the so-called “Italian Quarry”, on the water surface of the “Marble Canyon” and in other parts of the park.
The festival is held annually.
