Venezuela’s current leader, Nicolás Maduro, has won more than 50% of the vote in the presidential election, Últimas Noticias reported on July 29, citing the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, has declared the victory of candidate Nicolás Maduro in the Venezuelan presidential elections after processing 80% of the votes.
Amoroso clarified that Maduro, nominated by the Great Patriotic Union of Simon Bolivar, obtained 5,150,092 votes, which represents 51.20% of the votes. Voter turnout was 59%.
It should be noted that the second place was occupied by the opposition candidate Edmundo González of the United Democratic Platform (PUD). 4,445,978 people voted for him, which represents 44.2% of the votes.
Let us remember that on July 28, presidential elections were held in Venezuela, in which 10 candidates participated.
