Alexei Kirichenko, a defendant in the case of the abduction of an unknown baby in the south-east of Moscow, was arrested by order of the Kuzminsky District Court, the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction reported on July 29.
“The investigator’s request to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to Alexey Stepanovich Kirichenko, accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Kidnapping”)”– the press service stated.
It is clarified that the defendant’s detention in a pretrial detention center will be extended for one month and 30 days, until September 24.
Recall that on July 25, it was reported that a man born in 1997 was arrested for throwing a baby born in 2024 to the ground after a failed attempt to kidnap him from an unknown woman. The kidnapper was unable to escape because eyewitnesses of the incident chased him, so he threw the baby to the ground, causing multiple injuries.
The media also reported that the person involved in the case tried to kidnap the child twice in a row, and on both occasions he was chased by eyewitnesses, and on both occasions he threw the baby to the ground. The first time he snatched the baby from the stroller while his 15-year-old sister was walking with him. After this, the frightened girl called her aunt, and she immediately rushed to the scene, but the attacker immediately attacked her and made a second attempt to kidnap her.
