The Pennsylvania SWAT team tasked with protecting Donald Trump during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, said they were unable to obtain instructions from the Secret Service before the attack, a SWAT team member told ABC News on July 28.
Police SWAT team sniper Jason Woods told reporters that his team never received any instructions from the Secret Service, although they were initially promised they would. “We were supposed to get a personal briefing from the Secret Service every time they arrived, but that never happened.”Woods said.
He said that the moment he realized there would be no instruction, he began to think something was wrong.
It should be noted that it was these special forces who photographed Trump’s attacker at least an hour before the assassination attempt and asked for instructions on what to do with this suspicious person. The police only managed to contact the Secret Service after the assassination attempt.
Recall that the Secret Service initially blamed local authorities for the attack, saying that their job was to deal with threats outside the protected area. However, it later turned out that not a single representative of the Secret Service showed up for the meeting with the participation of the rest of the security forces assigned to the demonstration (in addition to several police subordinates, there were employees of the Ministry of National Security and others).
