The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, has ordered an investigation into reports of poisoning with bottled drinking water in the Sverdlovsk region, the department’s press service reported on July 29.
Several people in the region are reported to have developed acute intestinal infection after being poisoned with bottled water.
The acting head of the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the region was instructed to organize a procedural audit and present its results.
On July 29, it became known that a water bottling plant in the village of Pervomaisky, Sysertsky District, Sverdlovsk Region, was closed after more than 30 people were poisoned after consuming the company’s products.
A number of violations were discovered at the bottling site, including a lack of disinfection control; flies, butterflies and dead insects were found in the warehouse. There are no sinks on the premises; before starting work, employees do not wash their hands with soap or disinfectant.
