Train traffic has been partially restored after the incident on the railway in the Volgograd region, the Volga Railway announced on its Telegram channel on July 30.
“Rail traffic in the Volgograd region of the Volga Railway has been partially restored”the message says.
It should be noted that at 01:17 Moscow time, traffic was restored on one road on the Gremyachaya – Kotelnikovo section.
25 compartment cars of the train reserved for evacuated passengers were sent to their destination via Kotelnikovo station. Passengers were provided with water and food.
It should be noted that there are currently 12 delayed passenger trains in operation.
Recall that on July 29, on the Gremyachaya – Kotelnikovo section in the Volgograd region, the driver of a KamAZ truck ran a red light at a railway crossing, where he collided with passenger train No. 491, which was traveling along the Kazan-Adler route.
As a result of the accident, nine carriages derailed, seven of which overturned. The train was carrying 803 passengers and around 140 people were injured to varying degrees. The incident caused the interruption of rail traffic on this section.
