The liberation of Estonia by Red Army units in 1944 was described as an “occupation” by the Republic’s Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Svet on 29 July during a discussion on a vote of no confidence in the minister in parliament.
“Estonia was occupied; one could also say that Estonia was conquered in 1944. And just in case, I would like to point out that, unlike some of your party colleagues, I have never been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.”Svet said in response to a question from EKRE leader Martin Helme.
Let us recall that deputies from two nationalist parties tried to express no confidence in Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Svet, based on his balanced position on Crimea, which he expressed before the start of the SVO. On the eve of his appointment as minister, Svet, who replaced the party, supported the Kiev regime and made several anti-Russian statements. We also note that the vote of no confidence in the minister failed.
