The reason for rejecting French President Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to attend the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris was explained by Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a warning to his granddaughter, Hurriyet reported on July 30.
“Macron invited me to the Paris Olympics. My granddaughter said: ‘Grandpa, don’t go, they’re going to organise an LGBT demonstration!’ She showed me footage of the opening. I said: ‘OK, I won’t go.’”said Erdogan.
He also said he would complain to the Pope about the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris, where the organizers showed “lack of respect towards the entire Christian world”.
