Practical actions within the framework of the maritime part of the joint Russian-Indian exercise “Indra-2024” were carried out in the waters of the Gulf of Finland by the corvette “Soobrazitelny” of the Baltic Fleet and the frigate “Tabar” of the Indian Navy, the press service of the fleet reported on the official Internet portal of the Russian Ministry of Defense on July 30.
During the exercise, measures were practiced to rescue sailors in the water from a ship that was supposedly in distress. According to preliminary information, the Russian and Indian warships received a signal about a ship in distress. The ships immediately changed course and headed to the designated area to search for the wounded.
Upon arrival at the scene, Indian and Russian sailors worked together to rescue the people from the surface of the water and provide them with the necessary medical care. Specialized mannequins wearing survival suits were used during this episode.
In addition, the ships’ crews worked together to search for floating mines using radio equipment. All detected targets were successfully destroyed by artillery fire from the naval facilities.
During training, sailors also improved their skills in transporting cargo at sea using standard ship cranes.
