A photo of Turkish athlete Yusuf Dikeç during the mixed team competition in 10-meter air pistol shooting at the Olympic Games has surprised the Internet. It is about the athlete’s relaxed pose during the race: his hand in his pocket and no protection.
Most shooters wear ear protection when shooting, special glasses that cover one eye so they don’t have to keep it closed, and sometimes have tinted lenses to combat glare. Yusuf Dikec didn’t use any of that.
An image of the shooter was posted on social media, and several internet users responded with jokes and pranks. “I know a seasoned killer when I see one,” joked one internet user. “Turkey sent a killer to the Olympics?” said another.
Yusuf Diec won the silver medal together with his partner Sevval Ilayda Tarkhan.
