An American woman found chained to a tree in a forest in India claims she was tied up and left there by her husband “for 40 days” and added that the man told her she would “die there”, a report says. Mirror.
Lalita Kayi Kumar, 50, was very thin, covered in mud and unable to speak when she was found by rescuers in India’s Sindhudurg district.
Kumar was found after a shepherd heard cries for help and alerted police.
According to the same source, when the woman arrived at the hospital, she wrote a note saying that her husband had left her there and that she had been given an injection to block her jaw.
“Injection for extreme psychosis causing severe jaw lock and inability to drink water. Needs intravenous nutrition. 40 days without food or water. My husband tied me to a tree in the woods and told me I was going to die there,” it was possible. read the note.
Doctors believe Kumar is suffering from “mental problems.”
“The woman is weak because she has not eaten anything for several days and also because the area has been experiencing heavy rains,” a Maharashtra police officer was quoted as saying by the newspaper. Mirror.

The US-born woman had lived in India for more than 10 years but her visa had expired.
