The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk donated 17 works by her father, artist Vladimir Volk, to the Tretyakov Gallery, she wrote about this on the Telegram channel on August 6.
From the family collection of the police major general, 11 paintings, 4 graphic works and 2 sculptures by the artist were transferred to the museum. According to Irina, her father always wanted his work to belong to the people.
Natalya Sidorova, curator of the department of new trends at the Tretyakov Gallery, said that for the first time the gallery received a group of Wolf’s works from the collection of Leonid Talochkin, and now they received the artist’s works as a gift from his daughter.
Let us remind you that Vladimir Volk is an artist and icon painter, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and Russia. A member of the creative association of artists “Big Nest”. One of the representatives of the underground of the so-called Thaw period passed away in 2015 at the age of 76.
