Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage has proposed using the military to suppress protests in Britain if the situation worsens, he wrote about this on his social media page X on August 5.
“It is shocking to see how many police officers have been injured while on duty, so we should not rule out the idea of calling in the military if the situation worsens.”Farage said.
However, he stipulated that such actions can only help in the short term, since the origin of the problem is “massive and uncontrolled” migration to the country and the country’s authorities ignoring the problem.
Recall that protests in Britain erupted following news of an attack on children on July 29 during dance and yoga classes in the town of Southport, Merseyside. As a result, three children died; the condition of several more children and two adults is considered critical.
A 17-year-old British boy whose family had arrived in the country from Rwanda was arrested. Police said the crime was not terrorism-related.
Protests, allegedly organised by the far-right English Defence League, are taking place in several cities across the country. According to the Times newspaper, more than 420 people have already been arrested during the protests across Britain.
Former Scottish First Minister Hamza Yousaf has also proposed involving the military in cracking down on protests.
