Former top managers of Russian Post Andrei Sinichkin and Sergei Emelchenkov were sentenced by the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow to three years in prison and three years and six months respectively, the press service of the Moscow 5 courts of general jurisdiction wrote in August on its Telegram channel.
It is reported that Emelchenkov and Sinichkin were found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph “c” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers).
“Emelchenkov SE and Sinichkin AN were detained in the courtroom.”the message says.
The press service notes that according to the court ruling, the former top managers of the Russian Post will serve their sentences in general-regime correctional colonies and will also be deprived of the right to dispose of property and perform administrative and economic functions in municipal and state enterprises as managers. For Sinichkin, this restriction will be in effect for two years, and for Emelchenkov – for two and a half years.
Recall that in 2020, the former Deputy General Director for IT of the Russian Post company, Sergei Emelchenkov, was detained on charges of abuse of office, resulting in damages in the amount of more than 67 million rubles. His former colleague, the head of the IT service management department, Andrei Sinichkin, acted as a witness throughout the investigation, but shortly before the end of the investigation his status changed and he found himself in the dock.
