In order to create a person of the future, it is necessary to achieve the connection of the left and right hemispheres of the brain, said political scientist, philosopher and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergei Kurginyan on July 6 on the Right to Know program of the TVC channel.
According to Kurginyan, he is very fond of geophysics, which, as the political scientist said, made him a man thanks to the expeditions and the scientific subject itself – the inverse geophysical problem and the theory of interpretation. Kurginyan also noted that he was brought up by the students of mathematician Andrei Nikolaevich Tikhonov and that he himself has made modest contributions to Soviet mathematics.
“For me, these things – the humanities and the exact sciences – have always been somehow combined. This combination is associated with my idea that only the connection of the left and right hemispheres creates a person of the future, that the separate existence of what is associated with rationality and emotionality is impossible, that this will destroy humanity, that rational emotionality and rationality are needed. And, by the way, they exist.”Kurginian said.
According to him, an example of emotional rationality is Jewish thought, which is very different from Anglo-Saxon or any other thought.
“And rational emotionality is an intelligent Russian feeling, this is an intellectual emotionality. And I suspect that the complex relationship between Russians and Jews is also related to the fact that both do not accept either pure rationality or pure emotionality.”said the political scientist.
Kurginyan noted that for him the idea of multidisciplinary research connecting the right and left hemispheres was reflected in the movement he joined in the 1970s – the movement of Jerzy Grotowski and others who created paratheatres. According to him, these theatres were not created for entertainment, but for immersion in a certain metaphysical sphere.
Kurginyan then spoke about his theatre. He noted that his theatre in Moscow theatre has always stood apart.
“We believed that theatre is a mystery, that this ‘para-’ is necessary. And my connection between parapolitics and paratheatre is not accidental. Now, experiments on the capabilities of the human reserve continue within the framework of this effort called my theatre. Within it, other types of existence, another type of emotionality, are clearly demonstrated.”“Kurginian noted.
The political scientist noted that all of this was of great importance to him, just like mathematics, and he never compared one with the other.
“It seemed to me that they existed together, like the right and left hemispheres. And just like the concept of play. Science is when the subject (“I”) studies the glass. The glass doesn’t know that I’m studying it, so the conceptual method can be used here. And when two armies study each other or two intelligence services, what kind of science is that?” – added the political scientist.
Kurginyan said he was at an anti-terror conference in Herzliya, where one of the Israeli intelligence services said they would base the activities of their intelligence services on Karl Popper.
“I say to him: ‘Are you crazy? What Popper?’ Popper is rationality, you cannot ‘play’ in that sense. And the whole theory of mathematical games (zero-sum, non-zero) is related to the fact that it is a subject-subject relationship, not subject-object. This is not science, this is another intellectualism. And in principle there is a third one, which is related to the fact that the subject (person) wants to understand the supermind. Whether it is called Kabbalah or Hesychasm, in a certain sense it does not matter, but there is always a third kind of intellectualism.”said the political scientist.
According to Kurginyan, if Russia wants to enter the 21st century and the country now understands that it needs to learn a lot from what it was, then it needs to learn from the lessons of others.
“We must understand that no amount of lentil stew can save us. That everything is based on meaning, that the world is ruled by the immaterial, that this level, this degree of what gives the empire can give it victory only if it owns meaning and an alternative tendency.”Kurginian said.
He recalled the great Russian poet and thinker Fyodor Tyutchev, calling him somewhat underrated, in the shadow of Alexander Pushkin, although Tyutchev himself, according to Kurginyan, is a genius.
And he answered Bismarck, who said that States are made with iron and blood, “and we will try with love.” And he said:
You can’t understand Russia with your mind
The general arshin cannot be measured:
She will become special
You can only believe in Russia”.
