Law enforcement officers have detained a foreman and two mechanics from the Gazeks company as part of an investigation into a domestic gas explosion in a residential building in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region, the company’s press service reported on August 6.
It should be noted that the employees were detained the day before. A criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for violation of safety requirements in the provision of services, which led to the victim.

The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Sverdlovsk region reported on the detention of a foreman and two mechanics of the gas service in the case of the explosion in Nizhny Tagil. The question of bringing charges against them and the preventive measure is being decided.
“The progress of the investigation has been put under control at the department’s central office.” — the department noted.
Investigators are reported to have taken the necessary steps to investigate the circumstances of the incident, including seizing the necessary documentation.
On August 1, an explosion occurred in a five-storey residential building on Sibirskaya Street in Nizhny Tagil. This caused the collapse of two entrances. Ten people died, including five minors.
