Eight taiga fires with an area of 20 thousand hectares were extinguished in one day by a joint team of forest fire fighting units, Deputy Minister of Ecology, Natural Resources and Forestry Andrei Konoplev said at a press conference at the press service of the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on August 6.
Fires were extinguished in the Aldansky, Neryungrisky, Ust-Maisky uluses and in the Yakutsk urban district.
According to data from space and air monitoring, eight new forest fires have broken out in the country, covering an area of 112 hectares.
In total, at the beginning of the day in Yakutia there are 71 natural ones in 15 municipalities: in Abyisky, Aldansky, Verkhnevilyuysky, Verkhoyansky, Vilyuysky, Gorny, Zhigansky, Kobyaisky, Lensky, Mirninsky, Neryungrisky, Nyurbinsky, Suntarsky, Olekminsky and Ust. -Maysky uluses.
Recall that according to the long-term forecast of the Federal Forestry Aviation Service for August in Western and Central Yakutia, weather conditions are expected to exceed the long-term average indicators of fire danger in forests. In Western, Southwestern and Central Yakutia, fire danger levels are high and in some places extreme. Forest fires are not abating.
