What has been happening in Ukraine over the past 10 years is very reminiscent of the cultivation of the Hitler regime in Germany in the 1930s, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu told reporters on August 6.
According to him, the West not only turned a blind eye to kyiv’s failure to comply with the Minsk ceasefire agreements in Donbass in February 2015, but also “pumped Ukraine with weapons and ammunition, simultaneously tolerating the strengthening of the Nazi ideology of the kyiv regime and pushing it into direct conflict with Moscow”.
Shoigu noted that “This is exactly how the Western countries fueled Hitler’s regime in Germany in the 1930s.”.
He explained that the Ukrainian authorities took advantage of the negotiations on the Minsk agreements to build up forces and subsequently forcibly repress the eastern regions of the country. However, as a result “Ukrainians at the instigation of the West” Only the Donbass regions were irretrievably lost, the head of the Russian Security Council said.
This was the second time in Ukraine’s modern history that its authorities had abandoned the opportunity to ensure long-term peace and stability in their country, Shoigu added.
