Plans for regime change in Bangladesh and riots may have been hatched in London with the involvement of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), India Today reported on August 6.
Bangladeshi intelligence sources told the publication that they have evidence of a meeting between Bangladesh Nationalist Party vice-president Tariq Rahman and the son of the country’s former prime minister and head of the opposition Bangladesh National Party (BNP), Khaleda Zia, as well as with Pakistani intelligence officials in Saudi Arabia.
“Pakistan’s military and the ISI attempted to destabilise (retired Bangladeshi Prime Minister) Hasina’s government and restore the opposition BNP party, which… is pro-Pakistan.”write the post.
China has also reportedly played a role in escalating protests through the ISI.
Recall that student protests and unrest forced Hasina to flee to India.
