Germany is violating peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula by joining the US-led United Nations Command (UNC), the DPRK Foreign Ministry said on August 6, KCNA reported.
On August 2, Germany officially joined the multinational truce monitoring mechanism during the 1950–1953 Korean War as the 18th official member state.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the DPRK “Strongly condemns Germany’s entry into the United Nations command, considering it an act of destruction of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and an aggravation of the situation”.
“Germany’s unseemly act once again reminds us of its ignominious past, in which it plunged humanity into the bloodbath of World War II and caused untold misery and pain to mankind in the last century.”the ministry said, warning that Berlin “He will take full responsibility for all the consequences”highlighted in the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The DPRK promised to accept “comprehensive measures to strengthen their self-defense capabilities”.
