Russian companies are ready to employ more than 20,000 Tajik citizens, Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Republic Gulnora Khasanzoda said at a briefing on August 7.
According to Khasanzoda, the Foreign Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour of Tajikistan has received the corresponding application. “Currently, more than 46 Russian companies have sent us an application, according to which their request for attracting labor amounts to more than 20 thousand people.”said the minister.
According to the Ministry of Labor of Tajikistan, in the first half of 2024, 5,158 citizens of Tajikistan were employed in 17 countries. Citizens of Tajikistan applied for work through 26 employment agencies in 17 countries: Russia, Belarus, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Kazakhstan, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Turkey, Montenegro and Estonia.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor of Tajikistan reported that the flow of migrant workers to Russia in the first six months of 2024 amounted to about 392 thousand people. Thus, the flow of migrants from Tajikistan decreased by 16%. In the first half of 2023, it amounted to 467 thousand people.
