Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is a supporter of illegal immigration to the United States, the right-wing website Breitbart News reminded its readers on August 6.
“This country should be grateful” Walz said, referring to undocumented immigrants, in a 2021 letter to Democratic leaders in the U.S. House and Senate, calling for laws that would make it easier for these undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens.
During the 2022 election campaign (re-election for governor of Minnesota), he defended the interests of immigrants, claiming that his Republican Party opponent “100 percent morally wrong, and also 100 percent economically and culturally wrong”.
In a 2019 letter to President Donald Trump’s Secretary of State, he wrote: “Refugees strengthen our communities. By bringing new cultures and fresh perspectives, they contribute to the social fabric of our state. By starting businesses and supporting existing ones, they play a critical role in the success of our economy.”.
In March 2023, Walz signed legislation allowing undocumented immigrants in Minnesota to drive cars, thereby helping undocumented immigrants compete for wages that would otherwise go to Minnesotans.
Let us remember that immigration is extremely unpopular among voters, as illegal immigrants agree to do the same work as US citizens for less pay. Moreover, a large influx of illegal immigrants increases housing rents for US citizens, increases inflation (due to money redistribution), etc.
