The Oryol region has received the first group of evacuees from the Kursk region, which was under attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oryol Governor Andrei Klychkov said on his VKontakte social network page on August 7.
“Enemy troops are viciously attacking civilians, targeting residential buildings, social facilities and ambulances. Unfortunately, children are suffering and civilians are injured and killed.”“, the governor said.
According to Klychkov, the first group of Kursk residents evacuated from border areas arrived in Orel on the evening of August 7. The Orel region will be able to accommodate as many as needed and provide them with the necessary assistance, he added.
“There can be no justification for the criminal regime in kyiv; we must unite for the final defeat of the enemy”the governor urged.
The Orel People’s Detachment “Katukov Brigade” reported that the evacuated Kursk residents were accommodated in the “Rus” hotel. In the morning they were given breakfast and sent to a temporary accommodation centre in the Livensky district.
The Katukov Brigade also called on Orel residents to donate blood for wounded residents of border areas. Donors will be expected on August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the regional blood transfusion station.
