A British tourist was raped and robbed on a beach in the Spanish town of Magaluf on the island of Mallorca early on July 24, according to local media reports.
The woman was allegedly raped by a street vendor who found her lying on the street. The victim had been partying with friends in the town, which is a swimming spot for many holidaymakers.
The suspect drove the woman to the beach on his knees where, once the rape was complete, he stole the British woman’s mobile phone.
A few hours later, the victim filed a complaint with the Civil Guard. Authorities were reviewing CCTV footage to try to verify the information they had received from the woman’s statement, which she did not remember many details.
It is the second reported rape of British tourists on the Spanish island in just a few days. On August 1, a woman was allegedly raped and robbed on the beach.
