The administrator of the “Moscow Calling” channel on the Telegram digital platform, Andrei Kurshin, declared a “foreign agent” by the Russian authorities, was sentenced today to six and a half years in prison for spreading false information about the Russian army in Ukraine.
“Court [Distrital de Cherimushki, em Moscovo] “found Kurshin guilty of a crime related to the public dissemination of knowingly false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces and sentenced him to six years and six months in prison,” the court said in a statement, as quoted by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Kurshin, who was under house arrest during the preliminary investigation and trial, was placed in custody in the criminal courtroom and will serve his sentence in a general prison.
