Officers from Nicaragua, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Belize, Canada, Panama and the United States attend the three-day Conference of the American Armies (CAA) in Guyana on February 16, the Guyana Chronicle reports.
Colonel Omar Khan, Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defense Forces, welcomed the conference participants and expressed his best wishes on behalf of the President and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Irfan Ali and Brig-Gen Godfrey Bess.
He noted that the conference was timely as it was taking place at a time when Guyana was undergoing rapid revolutionary development. Khan stressed that Guyana is grateful to have been granted full membership in the CAA after being a special observer for many years.
It is highlighted that the Conference of the American Armies (CAA) has the objective of promoting cohesion, improving security and strengthening the inter-American friendship between the military.
