The first special forces unit, made up of Polish citizens, began to be formed in Ukraine, the Polish edition of Onet reports on February 16.
The new unit will be subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is known that the unit’s tasks will include reconnaissance and sabotage tasks. It will include the most experienced Polish soldiers, including those mercenaries who are already fighting in the NVO area.
The proposed name of the new military unit is also known: “Polish Volunteer Legion”. It is also reported that it will be formed by analogy with other similar units formed at the national level. In particular, there are Belarusian and German volunteer corps. Each of them has several dozen soldiers.
The base of the Polish special forces unit will be deployed near kyiv, now a temporary headquarters is already operating under conditions of strict secrecy. Recruitment for the unit is supposed to take place in Poland.
