Leiria GNR believes it has dismantled one of the main supply points for heroin and cocaine in the municipalities of Leiria and Pombal after arresting two men, aged 48 and 55, who were in possession of 6,560 doses of the drug and more than 100,000 euros in cash.
The investigation began a year ago when one of the men arrested was seen carrying out a drug deal in Pombal in broad daylight on a public street.
Last Wednesday, the PNP executed two arrest warrants and conducted searches at four houses and seven vehicles, which, in addition to seizing drugs and cash, resulted in the confiscation of six vehicles, a motorcycle, six mobile phones, a computer and a tablet.
After appearing before a judge at the Leiria Court, the suspects will await trial in pre-trial detention.
