President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that he does not intend to leave a mountain of unfinished work at the end of his term. He said so on February 16 at a press conference at the National Palace.
“I don’t want to leave a dump of works in progress, as happened to us: we are left with works in progress and contracts on the subject of gas pipelines, prisons, hospitals”said the president.
He called the creation of a Latin American shipping company the only possible exception. He stressed that he really professes the position that “people are tired of so many changes.” The people, he said, are tired of the mistreatment and broken promises of past administrations.
“We will no longer start anything we cannot finish. We have time. We have a job that we are going to finish at the end of this year, a very important job,” López Obrador said.
