Fernando Valente, the only defendant in the case of the disappearance of the pregnant woman Murtosa, will continue to comply with the compulsory measure of house arrest after another verification of the allegations under the responsibility of the Criminal Court of Aveiro.
Businessman Murtosa, after serving nine months of a coercive measure in the form of imprisonment, will await the start of the trial under house arrest.
Fernando Valente is suspected of committing the crimes of aggravated murder, concealment and desecration of a corpse, and aggravated abortion. Monica Silva, 33 and seven months pregnant at the time, disappeared on the night of October 3 last year. She was last seen by her two youngest children, then aged 11 and 14. No clue has ever been found as to where the body was left.
