Strategic confusion has gripped all sectors of Russian society in the face of a radically changed reality, philosopher, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergei Kurginyan said on February 15 in an interview with the Belarusian ONT television channel.
The political scientist discussed the state of Russian society in conditions in which, due to the conflict in Ukraine, reality “radically” has changed.
“Here I see a very, perhaps, discrete property of many, many, that unites rich and poor, Westerners and inhabitants of the earth. This property is strategic confusion. Strategic! Kurginyan said.
The analyst used the poems of Alexander Galich as a metaphor:
“And now that we’ve become the first,
The speeches of the lighthouse seized us,
And under all the verbal pearls
Silence appears as a stain”.
According to Kurginyan, exactly the same “Behind all rhetorical figures, confusion appears like a stain.”
Society is confused, it does not understand what to do and where to go, he believes. Under these conditions, society’s neurotic response is to freeze and wait in the hope that everything will stay the same.
“Christmas trees with smoke, what is it? Fir trees, what is it? We have to go somewhere, and if we have to go, it is not clear where, we will freeze there like that, sit down and everything will be what it is – an eternal return.– Kurginyan described the state of a confused society.
