This Thursday, a child was found in Lisbon on Avenida 5 de Outubro, near the Entrecampos train station. The PSP officers intercepted and identified the child’s mother, who was drunk and said she had forgotten about the child.
The child will be taken away from the mother during the investigation.
The woman stayed at a guest house near where she left her child.
According to an official PSP source, the girl was abandoned at 4:40 a.m. The alarm was raised at 6:10 a.m. by witnesses who were at the scene and saw a person leaving the baby carriage.
The child, who will be between 2 and 3 years old, was taken by a team of psychologists from INEM and PSP to the Dona Estefani Hospital for observation. The girl is healthy.
The PSP conducted an investigation at the Entrecampos station and its surroundings to identify the person responsible for abandoning the station.
