According to Nascer do Sol, five employees of the Ombudsman’s office were dismissed this month, while another was dismissed in April due to age. All the consultants and coordinators in question were over 55 years old and had worked for the company for 25 years. “We are talking, in essence, about carrying out a generational renewal, the need for which has long been stated and which was discussed at headquarters,” the deputy Ombudsman explained to the publication.
The dismissal of these six workers, who were reappointed to their positions in 2022, is part of a staff renewal process that may not yet be completed, as more employees are expected to leave. According to Nascer do Sol, in a 2021 report, the provider, 67-year-old Maria Lucia Amaral, said she had found “outdated structures and personal structures that have aged over time” that required “generational and functional renewal”. However, the process could not be completed earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
