As Ukraine intensifies its incursion into Russian territory, Moscow is bombarding Kyiv with missiles. The latest attack on the Ukrainian capital occurred on Sunday morning. “This is already the third attack on the capital in August, with an interval of exactly six days between each,” said the head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhiy Popko.
According to Ukrainian military sources, all the missiles were destroyed as they approached the city and were apparently “North Korean ballistic missiles.” Authorities say there have been no reports of casualties or damage in the capital.
But the governor of the Kyiv region said two homes had been destroyed and 16 others damaged by falling debris. On another front, Russia also said Sunday it had captured a village about fifteen kilometers from the town of Pokrovsk, a major logistics hub in eastern Ukraine that has been in Moscow’s sights for months.
These achievements are a sign that the pressure on the eastern front is not easing, despite the unprecedented advance of Ukrainian troops into the Kursk region since August 6.
