Two cleansing rituals will take place on February 19 at the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha Central Khurul in Kalmykia on the eve of the Tsagaan Sar holiday. This was announced on February 17 by the khurul administration.
The rituals of “Kangso” and “Kurvn Khuv” will be held in the central khurul of Kalmykia on February 19.
The Kangso ritual will begin at 9 am. During the ritual, the monks utter praises to the defenders of the Buddhist Dharma teachings: Sakusna ödr. In prayer, the monks ask that all living things have a happy life and make special offerings, the most important of which is the golden drink “serjm”.
At 1:00 p.m., the “Kurvn Huv” ceremony will begin. Your task is to remove obstacles and ailments. For this, believers can receive pieces of dough in the temple. They are carried out on the face, body and painful areas, as if it were a purification of the negative accumulated over the last year. The ritual symbolizes renewal.
The Tsagan Sar festival marks the arrival of spring and is celebrated on the first lunar day of the Dragon month. This year it falls on February 21.
