The US Secretary of State has urged Hamas to do the same. However, Hamas has responded that it will not accept the deal “without a complete ceasefire.”
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Monday that the Government of Israel has given its approval to the latest proposal revised proposal submitted by the United States for an agreement ceasefire and release of hostageswhich is why it has urged the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to do the same and reach an agreement.
The head of US diplomacy has stressed after three hours of meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the latter has confirmed to him that Israel accepts US proposal in Doha last week “to try to overcome the differences between the parties.”
Blinken has thus called on Hamas to accept the initiative. “Now it is up to Hamas to do the same”he stressed at a press conference in Tel Aviv.
On his ninth visit to Israel since October 7, Blinken stressed that he had traveled to the area “to cross the finish line” in attempts to achieve a ceasefire.
Shortly after learning of Israel’s ‘yes’ to the US truce proposal, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has responded that will not accept the agreement “without a complete ceasefire”Hamas insists that the previous proposals it received included its two main demands: a comprehensive ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of the army from the Gaza Strip.
