The Alekseevsky district court of the Belgorod region considered the case of replacing the remaining term of Mikhail Efremov’s imprisonment in the colony with forced labor, the court’s press service reports on February 17.
“On February 17, 2023, proceedings began at the request of the lawyer Padalko Yu.P. on the replacement of the unfulfilled part of the punishment with a lighter type of punishment in the form of forced labor for the convicted Efremov Mikhail Olegovich was terminated at the request of Efremov MO– said the press service of the court.
Earlier, on January 23, the court received a petition from the lawyer Efremov to replace the remaining term of the punishment in the form of imprisonment in a colony with hard labor.
Recall that on June 8, 2020, Efremov, while intoxicated while driving his car, collided with a car, the driver of which Sergey Zakharov died from his injuries in the hospital.
The initial verdict in the Efremov case provided for punishment in the form of 8 years in prison with service in a general regime colony. The sentence was then modified, reducing the prison term in the colony to 7.5 years.
