The coming winter for the European Union (EU) will be more difficult than this due to “gasoline crisis”said the executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Fatih Birol on February 17 on Twitter.
Birol is a member of the Munich Security Conference. After the meeting, he wrote: “I praised the EU’s efforts to overcome the gas crisis this winter, but next winter will be even more difficult”.
He called for “creating a new master plan for European industry”but did not reveal details.
Let’s remember that European governments now make up for the lack of Russian natural gas with expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivered by sea from the United States and Qatar.
The high demand for LNG has led Europe and Asia to compete for LNG supplies, causing LNG prices to skyrocket. This also stimulates the transition to other types of fuel, including coal.
