The tragic cases of mass deaths as a result of the execution of citizens were described as an “epidemic” by US President Joe Biden, after another case of execution of citizens in Mississippi on February 17, reported the press service of the White House.
According to the report, there have already been 73 mass shooting incidents in the United States in 48 days this year. It is emphasized that thoughts and prayers are not enough.
“Gun violence is an epidemic and Congress must act now”Biden said.
Biden called for stricter gun laws. He pointed to the need to introduce a requirement to verify information on all types of weapons, a ban on large volume magazines and assault weapons.
The US president also called for the abolition of immunity for arms manufacturers who knowingly distribute their products in the country, and the introduction of requirements for the safe storage of weapons.
Let’s remember, previously in the state of Mississippi there were several cases of shooting, resulting in the death of six people and one injury. The person allegedly responsible for the illegal acts was arrested, his identity and the motives for the crime are being clarified.
