Ukraine launched one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow since the war began early Wednesday, demonstrating the growing boldness and confidence of Ukrainian forces after their successful incursion into the Russian region of Kursk.
At least 11 drones were shot down by Russian air defenses in the Moscow region, some of them over the city of Podolsk, just over 30 kilometers from the Kremlin. There were no reports of casualties or damage in one of the largest and most brazen attacks on the Russian capital since the conflict began, which coincided with a visit by Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang.
However, the Vice President of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said yesterday that Ukraine’s invasion of the Kursk region had buried the possibility of negotiations once and for all. “There will be no negotiations until the enemy is completely destroyed,” he wrote on Telegram.
