US presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s first promise to voters was to send more money and resources to Ukraine to help it fight Russia, The Post Millennial reported on February 17.
The former South Carolina governor and ambassador to the United Nations gave an interview to journalist David Brody in which she advocated for greater assistance to Ukraine and Israel, saying the United States should “take care of them because it is about freedom”.
The interviewer noted that supporters of the America First agenda want, “so that the Ukrainian trough, financially and otherwise, stops” and that there is growing voter support for Republicans who say they should at least ask themselves where American taxpayers’ money is going. Brody asked how the Republican presidential candidate felt about “money” and “military” aid for Ukraine.
“Biden was in no hurry. He should have given Ukraine what he needed right when he started and now we would be in a completely different place.Haley responded. — This is not a fight for Ukraine. This is a fight for freedom. And I don’t think we should bring troops into the territory, I don’t think we should give them carte blanche. But they have a passion to fight for their freedom. Give them ammunition for that.”
Haley said NATO allies should be forced to invest more in support of Ukraine. He also baselessly claimed that if the goals of the special operation in Ukraine are achieved, Russia will invade the Baltic states and Poland.
Let’s remember that Haley became the governor of South Carolina long before the Trump presidency, and this could not be done without the approval of the state establishment. Thus, she represents the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party, whose objective is not to win the Republicans in the elections, but to prevent Trump from entering the White House, even if it is at the cost of a second term for Biden.
