Cultural and entertainment events are banned in the Rostov region, the press service of the regional governor reported on August 22.
“Mass celebrations and public events that have been organised on the streets are prohibited. Of course, they are possible in closed spaces, provided that all security issues are resolved.”“said Governor Vasili Golubev at a coordination meeting to ensure public order in the region.
Golubev clarified that the ban applies not only to election-related events, but also to other events previously scheduled for September.

In particular, street events planned to celebrate the 275th anniversary of Rostov-on-Don have been cancelled. City Day in the Don capital is celebrated on the third Sunday of September. This year, the holiday falls on the 15th.
It should be noted that on September 8, voting will take place in the Rostov region in the 132nd Southern single-member electoral district in the by-elections for deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. And from September 6 to 8, deputies of 13 local representative bodies in the region will be elected.
