A training session on combating underwater saboteurs and unmanned ships has been held at the Baltic naval base as part of anti-terrorist activities, the information support department for the Baltic region of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the official Internet portal on August 22.
At the first stage, the military trained in base defense against unmanned ships. Combat crews designed to destroy unmanned ships have developed an algorithm for detecting and distributing targets to ensure their destruction. Methods of firing across sectors in the event of a massive attack by ships were also practiced. The military periodically practices tasks of destroying unmanned ships to automate the algorithm of actions.
In the second stage, the servicemen of the anti-sabotage detachment and the fleet’s assets practiced submarine defence by performing underwater dives. The training was carried out using search and rescue systems installed on anti-sabotage boats and patrol boats. In addition, preventive grenade launches were carried out in the outer harbour.
More than 50 military personnel, several small units of Rook and Raptor patrol and anti-sabotage boats, as well as speedboats participated in the training event.
