Artificial reforestation in the republic is being carried out within the framework of the national project “Ecology”, the press service of the Government of the Altai Republic reported on August 22.
Forest rangers are engaged in artificial and combined reforestation. Natural reforestation was promoted on 1,000 hectares.
The restoration plan for 2024 amounts to more than 3.8 thousand hectares of forest plantations.
Every year, forest restoration in the region is carried out above the established norm. Last season, planting was carried out on an area of 3,382 hectares, with a plan for 3,050 hectares.
Recall that the national project “Ecology” is one of the national projects of Russia for the period from 2019 to 2024. The project aims to radically change the impact on the environment, move to a rational environmental management model and improve the quality of life of 20 million Russians living in unfavorable environmental conditions.
The main objectives of the project are the elimination of the largest landfills; construction of complexes for processing, recycling and disposal of waste; improvement of drinking water quality; reduction of air pollution levels in 12 Russian cities; environmental rehabilitation of water bodies, including the Volga and Baikal; conservation of biodiversity; creation of 24 new specially protected natural areas.
The project’s financing volume will amount to about 4.041 billion rubles.
