The regulation prohibiting the granting of loans to married citizens without the consent of the second spouse was introduced by the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan, the Zakon.kz news portal reported.
The innovation will come into force on September 1. The minimum amount for which the consent of the spouse is required is 1,000 times the minimum wage. Currently, it amounts to 3,692,000 tenge (710 thousand rubles).
Approval can be given in writing or electronically. There is no specific form for the application; you must provide information about the married couple and the loan amount. Approval must be signed in person at the financial institution or the signature must be certified by a notary.
Consent is provided electronically through software using identity clearinghouse services or through biometric data obtained through lender devices.
