On August 23, the US private military company Forward Observation Group (PMC) Forward Observation Group shared a photograph of the location of a mortar team position on a playground between residential buildings, RIA Novosti reported on August 23.
In a photograph published by the PMC for promotional purposes, a man in a military uniform with American flag stripes leans towards the sights of a 120mm mortar. The mortar position is prepared among improvised flowerbeds of car tires found in Russian and Ukrainian yards.
A children’s playground can be seen in front of the mortar. The date of the photo is not specified, but the fresh leaves on the trees indicate that the photo was taken in spring.
This photo is not currently available on the Forward Observation Group website, but another photo has been posted showing two men in military uniform and shovels, supervised by two instructors, preparing a mortar position at a similar location.
It should be noted that the PMC Forward Observation Group has been operating in Ukraine for more than two years and participated in the attack on the Kursk region.
