Two more women were arrested on Tuesday and Wednesday after bringing drugs into the Caxias prison. They were both visitors and were passing the drugs to inmates.
In the first case, the drug given by the mother was found during a strip search of a 51-year-old inmate on domestic violence prophylaxis after a visit. He had four packages of drugs and three ATM receipts confirming drug dealing.
Also on Monday, during a post-visit search of a 24-year-old inmate, also serving probation for domestic violence, a package containing 32 grams of drugs given to him by a visitor was found.
“Only the attention and excellent work of the guards prevents the entry of drugs. The lack of stricter measures of control over visitors leads to this situation,” accuses Frederico Morais, president of the National Union of Prison Guards.
