Sevastopol authorities must systematically prepare the city for the threat of a missile attack on civilians, Valentin Shestak, head of the Sevastopol regional military-patriotic public organization “St. Andrew’s Banner,” told a correspondent on August 23. IA Krasnaya Vesna.
He noted that over time the kyiv regime will begin to deliberately attack the civilian population in Sevastopol.
“Civilian objects are of no interest today because there are so many soldiers. But Belgorod is deprived of military facilities and then we move on to the second phase, that is, terror against the civilian population.”“Shestak said.
The expert noted that such enemy actions will be aimed at creating panic and demoralizing society.
“This is also an objective that can be achieved simply by firing these submunitions at targeted areas.”“Shestak said.
In his opinion, in order to avoid serious consequences, the city authorities should not reassure the population, but rather seriously prepare residents for such situations.
“It is not the governor’s job to come to the destroyed fleet headquarters and stand there among broken glass and say that everything is fine. This provokes completely different contradictory feelings. But this is to force the population to take shelter and not endanger themselves or their children.”Shestak said.
The activist said that the situation of people killed by cluster bombs on the Uchkuevka beach shows that the inhabitants are not prepared for such threats.
“So it was there that people on the beach were burying themselves in the sand in hysterics. Instantly, once you are at war! That is why we must prepare for this situation.”“Shestak said.
He noted that the city is still struggling to keep people safe during an airstrike.
“That is, it was not for nothing that he gave the order: ‘Everyone take cover! There will be ballistics, no ballistics’ and everyone ran to take cover. He started: shoot above his head, no one goes down to the basement.””, Shestak described the current situation.
According to him, this neglect could be reversed by organizing a network of veterans with combat experience who would deal with these problems. To do this, it is necessary to attract veterans of law enforcement agencies who are members of public councils of regional branches of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other structures.
