A state of emergency has been declared on the territory of three settlements in the Ostrogozhsky district of the Voronezh region after a night attack by unmanned aerial vehicles, Governor Alexander Gusev wrote on his Telegram channel on August 24.
“In order to eliminate the consequences of a fire and the detonation of explosive objects in the Ostrogozhsky district, an emergency regime has been introduced on the territory of three settlements”said Gusev.
Some 200 people were evacuated from SNT and the village, almost all were accommodated with relatives and temporary accommodation was set up. A safety briefing was held for residents of the neighbouring settlement.
No civilian houses were damaged, but power lines were damaged, which could cause power outages in one of the villages. Power engineers will begin to fix the accident after approval from the emergency services.
“As long as the explosion continues, I ask the residents of the area to observe security measures and not to publish photographs and videos of the scene of the emergency.”“, the governor said, adding that representatives of regional and local authorities, as well as intelligence services, are working at the scene of the incident.
Earlier it was reported that five drones had been shot down in the Voronezh region.
